The end of Capeta

Hey race fans,

It’s certainly been a while yet again. Sadly no new chapter this time, and bearings of other news. For those who don’t know, Capeta has been lucky enough to get an official English translation. This occurred about a month and a half ago, you can go read it today on the K-Manga app if it’s available in your region. At that time our group had a discussion, with some translations already in the bank and a chapter in flight, we decided to go ahead with our Capeta to try and see it through to completion.

Unfortunately I would say, we have not managed to get anything further out in that time. Some further things have happened since about 2 weeks ago, and the group decided to re-discuss whether we should continue with the project given we still have not made any new or faster progress. We have come to the conclusion that overall the drive is not there to finish this series. So we have decided to call the series there and we will not be pursuing completion of the series.

It’s unfortunate and sad that we weren’t able to get to the finish line and had to retire from the race, but for all Capeta fans I would encourage you to read the official translation in which ever way you can so you can get the satisfaction of being able to finish the story of this great racing manga.

The next question is ultimately what happens for this group now that our last active project is being retired. There are a few things I can state. We will be trying to get out a few more chapters of Capeta. We already have some translations that we will slowly get through, they are not in any particular order, but we want to release the hard work that we’ve already done. We will also be seeing if our translators are interested in starting any new or existing projects, and if so how we can accommodate those projects.

So for now race and deadbeat-scans fans, we’ll be signing off and see what the future holds.

Best,

-Someone2040 and the Deadbeat-Scans team

Capeta v26 c99

Greetings racing fans,

We know this hasn’t been the year of releases that we’d of liked. Some things have slowed us down, but we’re hoping to get a bit more active in future and get back into the swing of things. We’ve recently got another translator, who we’re hoping will enable us to get releases out faster.

For now, enjoy the end of volume 26, and look forward to the final 6 volumes!

Capeta v26 c98

Hey readers,

Sounds a little bit like a broken record, but it’s certainly been a while. Certainly not intending to take this long, but it is what it is sometimes. This is not a job for us, and we’re a varied group of people from all around the world. So sometimes things are slow and life gets in the way.

Anyway, the Australian Grand Prix just finished so now’s as good a time as any to release the next chapter of Capeta! We now head across to Europe to take a look at how Naomi is doing in the Euro Formula 3.

Capeta v26 c96

Hey all,

In today’s chapter we see the epic conclusion to the race between Capeta and Kaneda! Who will take the pole position Suzuka!

A few changes in this release. Firstly we’re changing to chapters rather than the ‘parts’ we released in. Just makes it easier to track the updates at sites like MangaUpdates.

Secondly, the size of the pages has shrunk in this release compared to previous releases. We found a new set of raws which are much easier to join the double pages, so we’ve swapped to using them for now. Hopefully doesn’t impact people too much, but makes the cleaning a huge amount simpler.

Enjoy the chapter all!

Capeta v25 p2

Hey racing fans,

Just like the last time I posted a latter (current now?) chapter of Capeta, it’s been a while. In fact, that’s the story of this chapter. Sometimes for critical pieces of our process, it takes a while for them to get to things. But however slowly things happen, they do happen eventually, so enjoy this chapter of Capeta!
